I know everyone, at some point of time in his or her life, has played this game. It is the first exposure a child gets to a simulation of a real life business world. The fun that one can have while playing this board game is only bound by the creativity involved in the game.... Like Donald Trump says in the Apprentice - It's nothing personal, It's just Business!
Life is at a stand-still for me as of now. Out of the 7 days in a week, I spend 5 days in the office working or playing carrom (:D) and then going home and watching some TV show on my lappy. The weekend is the best part. Friday night onwards I spend two days at my friend Varun's place in Pune. That place is home outside home for me. Kindly allow me to elaborate...
That apartment falls outside any time zone that we know of- literally! We do not know when we sleep, when we wake up, when we eat or take a bath (:P). BEER flows like water 24/7 and there's always some or the other game going on. It can be Playstation 3 or RISK or the "latest" old sensation- Business! Varun, Farooqi and I played it for the first time last weekend(after alcohol became legal for us :) ). In a word- AWESOMENESS!!! My friends Uru, Chi and Alay in Ahmedabad innovated a new way of playing the game. In the beginning, you have a tender system to buy all the cards in the game. For every card, every player quotes a bid price on a piece of paper. The card goes to the highest bidder. This way every player has an initial cap using which he/she has to buy places and save money for construction and paying rents. We have also added few new rules but those you can decide on your own. Someone has rightly said- innovation is the spice of life! I highly recommend this game to any board gamer... Feel free to call me a dumbass in the comments if you find this game boring.
My friends are playing at "Not Just" Jazz by the Bay on 29th Aug. 2008... Their band's name is - HOURGLASS. The next post will be dedicated to them.
Cheers...
